It is no longer a secret that Hon (Prince) Odianosen Okojie, the scion of the legendary Ogbidi Okojie royal dynasty saved the All-Progressive Congress (APC) from imminent collapse in Edo State when he stoutly backed the zoning of the APC governorship candidacy to Edo Central Senatorial Zone, leading to the emergence and eventual victory of Senator Monday Okpebholo as the APC governorship candidate in the November 2023 polls.
Had Hon Odi Okojie’s wise counsel not prevailed, unfathomable crises/factional disputes would have rocked the party with disenchanted Esans abandoning the party and voting enmasse for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leading to the probable implosion and ultimate collapse of the party in Edo State. Thus, the pragmatic Prince Odi should be celebrated and rightly so, for contributing enormously to the massive rejuvenation and landslide victory of the APC which has added one more feather to the much-festooned cap of His Excellency, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
Rather than engaging in false narratives meant to hoodwink the masses, the truth must be told squarely that Hon Odi Okojie needs to be adequately encouraged for his unflinching loyalty to the party by ensuring his nomination for the Edo Central Senatorial seat and massively backing him to a landslide victory in the upcoming National Assembly polls. Apart from the inestimable debt of gratitude owed the indefatigable Hon Okojie by the APC at the state and federal levels, his nomination and expected triumph at the polls will usher in a bright new dawn for Edo Central as he already has an infrastructural, developmental and socio-economic blueprint designed to take the zone to the next level in the crucial scheme of things. The frontline lawmaker and Chairman House Committee on Petroleum Midstream representing Esan North East/ Esan South East Federal Constituency of Edo State has already proved his mettle in the health, education, power, pipeborne water, agriculture, manpower development and women and youths empowerment arenas attracting numerous federal projects and programs to his beloved constituency. Many Esan youths and graduates have been employed in numerous federal agencies, parastatals and military/paramilitary formations nationwide as a result of Hon Odi Okojie’s proactive exertions.
Having crucially delivered on his campaign promises and saved the day for the APC in Edo State, the logical step forward is the Nigerian Senate where Hon Odi Okogie, the irrepressible tribune of the dispossessed will continues to do what he knows best, the constant and consistent delivery of democratic dividends to his beloved people.
