The Etsu Kwali, Ayedoo Luka Nizassan, The Third has emphasized the importance and need for peaceful co-existence among host communities and government agencies to enhance good governance and rapid development in the country.
The Royal Father stated this when he received the Director/Chief Executive of the National Mathematical Centre, Prof Promise Mebine and Management in his palace in Kwali, Abuja.
He called on the host communities to treat government agencies as their own while the agencies in turn should provide minimal amenities and employment to their hosts.
HRH Ayedoo Luka Nizassan explained that government exists for the people and to better the lot of the society.
He appreciated the NMC Chief Executive, Prof Mebine for following peaceful means to resolve whatever issues that exist between the Centre, host communities and Fulani herdsmen.
Earlier, the Director/Chief Executive of the National Mathematical Centre, Prof Promise Mebine had informed the Etsu Kwali, Ayedoo Luka Nizassan, The Third of the encroachment into the land in which the Centre is situated by host communities and Fulani herdsmen.
Prof Mebine emphasized that the Centre was established in 1988 and by available records and evidence, the Federal government had paid appropriate compensation to the owners of the land thereby making it possible for the Centre to exist cordially with the host communities over the years.
He, however, said that the Centre has been following peaceful means to resolve the matter and called for the intervention of the Royal Father.
He pointed out that in recent times, all efforts by the management of the Centre to maintain the peace had been rebuffed by both the host communities and herdsmen thereby interfering and hindering the staff of the Centre from performing their statutory duties.
He narrated a situation in which the Community began to farm on the Centre’s land while Fulani herdsmen attacked the Centre’s security stressing that if these situations are not appropriately handled the situation may escalate.
He therefore called on the Etsu Kwali Ayedoo Luka Nizassan, The Third to intervene to restrain them from further encroaching into the land.
He commended the tradition ruler for providing exemplary leadership and ensuring peace in the area.
