Undoubtedly, history was made and by no other esteemed personality than Barrister Chinedu Akubueze when he became the first Clerk of the Senate in National Assembly history to be appointed as the Chief of Staff to the President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Dr Godswill Obot Akpabio.

Indeed, Barr Chinedu Akubueze’s deserved appointment as Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the National Assembly in January, 2025 is a fitting reward for his unstinting hardwork, technical competence, unrivaled efficiency, unvarnished professionalism, exemplary performance and unflinching loyalty to his fatherland in all positive ramifications.

As a consummate legal practitioner of many years practical and administrative experience, Barr Chinedu Akubueze has indeed paid his dues in all facets having joined the Department of Legal Services of the National Assembly on the 9th of April 1992 predated by many fruitful years of private legal practice and processes.

Through utmost diligence, hardwork, perseverance, tenacity, resilience and professional sagacity, Barr Chinedu Akubueze rose through the administrative ranks of the Legal Services Department of NASS until his auspicious appointment as the Clerk of the House of Representatives in November 2022 and later Clerk of the Senate in March 2022.

During his trailblazing tenures, an intuitive Barr Akubueze has never wavered in his staunch determination to transform the nation’s apex parliamentary bureaucracy into a revered institution conforming with globally acclaimed best practices; as far as he is concerned only the best is good enough for the National Assembly QED.

 Thus, an astute Barr Akubueze was able to achieve his laudable aims and objectives by strictly adhering to the sacrosanct ethos of probity, transparency, accountability, due process and the rule of law in all administrative operations, activities, finances and procedures. Placing deserved premium on hardwork, merit, commitment to duty and obedience to all relevant laws, statutes and regulations of the nation’s public service was another crucial plank of Barr Chinedu Akubueze’s much admired policy desiderata.
