The Director and Chief Executive of National Mathematical Centre, Prof Promise Mebine has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa for the inclusion of the Centre into TETFUND. This will enable the Centre to fully participate in its Programs and Initiatives.
The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) has therefore granted the Centre full access to all of its academic programs and initiatives for the Centre’s academic activities. The development gives the Centre the leverage and opportunity to grow, collaborate, and further contribute to the advancement of Mathematics and the Mathematical Sciences.
Speaking at the Expanded Management Meeting of the Centre in Abuja , Prof Mebine said the development will assist the Centre to benefit from a wide range of TETFUND’s programs. These include funding opportunities for infrastructure development, research grants, scholarships, conference attendance, publications of research, journals and various capacity-building initiatives.
It will as well bolster Centre’s academic programs, particularly in Mathematics and the Mathematical Sciences which is the core of its mandate.
He further appreciated the President, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to the revival of Nigeria’s education system under the” Renewed Hope” agenda.
He also extended his gratitude to the Honorable Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa and the Executive Secretary of TETFUND for their unwavering support and for making it possible for the Centre to be included in TETFUND’s programs.
The NMC Chief of Executive stressed that the Inclusion of the Centre in TETFUND initiatives will not only enhance the Centre’s quality to deliver quality education but assist her to deliver on its mandate.
